About our cause
CLASP, which stands for Caring, Listening And Supporting Partnership is a self-advocacy charity for adults with Learning Disabilities in Wokingham Borough. It was founded in 2005 by a small group of campaigners with learning disabilities.
We run the Wokingham Learning Disability Partnership Board and various projects to ensure the LD community is recognised and has a voice. Our activities include weekly coffee mornings with drop-ins from housing, library, and local police, active sessions, sports and exercise sessions, and a popular gardening club. Fridays are dedicated to our members' campaigns.
As a member-led charity, our members drive ideas while staff provide support. We offer structured activities and education, striving to make a positive impact and achieve the best for our members.
Our members say CLASP is their safe and happy place. Supporters say CLASP has changed their lives and that of their families.
We need your help so we can continue to offer and even expand our service!
Thank you for your support and good luck!
